IN MEMORIAM
Lawrence M. Kline Sr.
September 11, 1939 - January 3, 2008
Larry Kline (Casey) was an active, passionate participant and one of the first members of Kicken Hardware. Many of us go back considerably farther with him at our prior bulletin board. We respected Larry for his integrity and support of causes in which he fervently believed. A premier bargain hunter, he located and shared with us many good deals for computer equipment and other products.
Larry created and for four years painstakingly maintained the (Iraqi) Fatalities thread to keep us aware of the sacrifices being made by our military personnel. Having known Larry, we're sure when he meets them he will say, "Thank you! Well done!" And, in turn, the troops will greet him with "Thank YOU, Larry! Well done!"
How fortunate we are to have gotten to know Larry even though only through cyberspace. They say only the good die young, but we're glad he stuck around long enough to age graciously, try to help make the world a better place for our children and allow us the privilege of interacting with him.
God Speed

The History
The core members of KH came from a very respectable bbs, originating from the greater Philadelphia PA area, where we contributed much as we do here, freely and openly. Other than the fact that we were not paying for the hosting, it was left for us to keep it alive for quite a few years. After several disagreements over the direction the forum was taking, we decided to move on, and in 2004, with the capable stewardship of Adam (Smokey) were able to start our own bbs. We have never looked back. Those who have followed, we believe, have found a much more satisfying experience here.
The Mission
The major failure of many "tech" forums out there is where a few individuals like to dominate or intimidate other members. Maybe they like to show off their superior (often not) skills or just want to be the ruling bully on the block. Our group does not accept that kind of behavior. All comments welcome, all voices heard, and no question 'too stupid' or beneath us. In our efforts to help someone, we learn much ourselves, and the 'search' often leads to additional information that proves valuable to our members. It's not so much our individual knowledge and expertise but years of researching information and being able as a group, to direct others to the right sources for the correct answers.
